Welcome to United States History!
I am absolutely thrilled to begin my 21st year of teaching (19 here at Bowie High School). For me, teaching is a calling -- something I wanted to do from an early age and a profession about which I am utterly committed and passionate. While I have taught a number of different social studies classes, my true love is U.S. History. This year, I will also be serving my colleagues as the Instructional Chair for the Bowie Social Studies Department, offering them support as they work to guide and inspire the Bowie students. In addition to teaching, I am a busy mom to our blended family of 5 kids (ages 11-21). When I'm not shuttling kids between activities or taking care of our hectic household, I enjoy running, reading, volunteering, and bit of travel -- we just returned from a fantastic trip to San Francisco, Yosemite, and Sequoia! I hope you'll find this website to be easy to use. Knowing that junior year in high school is particularly stressful and busy, I pride myself on being very organized, so my students understand exactly what is expected.
